What is a Forum?

A forum is an online message board where ZuMates can share and discuss whatever is on their mind through individual posts. Each post is displayed in chronological order or as threaded discussions. SportZu.tv Forums are designed for participants with common interests and can exchange open messages.

SportZu.tv Forums are seperated into eight distinct Forum Subjects including Amateur Sports, Coaches Corner, College Sports, Parents Corner, Pro Sports, The Basketball Highway, Xtreme Sports, Youth Sports.

In each Forum Subject there can be hundreds of Topics. If you want to create a new topic, click on the Forum Subject you wish to place a discussion under. Next hit the gray, "Post New Forum Topic" button at the top of the Forum discussion page. 

For each Forum Topic, ZuMates can respond and through individual posts. Post are displayed in chronological order, placing the newest response first. You can post as many times as you want.

Note - Forums are managed by our administrators. Please remember that everyone's opinion is welcome but keep it appropriate for everyone.

To finalize, please select save at the bottom of the page. At any time you may opt in or opt out of this feature.

What is a Channel? SportZu channel is just like a TV channel only on SportZu there are videos for that specific program, team, or sport. If you like a channel enough, you can become a fan of the channel. To be a Fan: Click the I’m a Fan (click to join) at the very bottom of the video player.

In every channel is a playlist, think of them like different television programs. Each playlist has different videos on that topic.

Every channel automatically goes to a specific playlist, but you can always check out other ones. To view another playlist, just click the tabs highlighted in grey; or click on the white tabs above the video player.

What is a Playlist? Playlists are like different television programs. Each playlist has videos that relate to the title of the playlist. If you want to know how to improve your lacrosse stick skills but you want to know how the pros do it, go to the Denver Outlaws Channel and click on the Tips & Drills Tab.

What is ZuCam? SportZu is all about the behind the scenes footage and getting the inside scoop on players and teams where normally a camera cannot go. Watch team practices, game strategy, or just athletes showing off who they really are. SportZu.tv’s ZuCam is all about game.

How do I get additional videos related to the channel I am on? Want additional videos related to the channel your on Check out the Channel description underneath the video player. There are links and helpful hints on where to find related videos to that specific channel or playlist.

How do I join SportZu?
1. To join SportZu.tv just click anywhere on the grey "Join" box to the right of the Video player.
2. This will link you to the "My Profile" page where you can create you own account.
3. Fill out your profile by creating a user name and password. You will need to provide a valid email address.*
4. *All e-mails from the system will be sent to this address. The e-mail address is not made public and will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or wish to receive certain news or notifications by e-mail.

Editing your profile is easy and can be done when you first create an account. After setting up a valid username, password and email address, you will automatically be taken to your new blank profile page. To edit your profile, click the “Edit Profile” tab to the right “Account Settings.”

If you just didn’t have time to create your profile when you first joined, its not too late! Just log in and click the "Edit" link in parentheses next to your SportZu user name on the upper right hand corner of the screen, slightly below the upper navigational menu.

Now it’s your turn to be creative! Fill out the form with your favorite teams, subjects, hobbies, sports etc. This page is about you so make it yours; Sport Your Game!

How do I add/edit a profile picture?
1. To add/edit your profile picture, make sure you are logged in to SportZu.tv.
2. Next click the "edit" link in parentheses next to your SportZu log in user name on the right hand side of the screen, slightly below the upper navigational menu. Now click the "Account Settings" Tab next to "Edit Profile."
3. This will link you to your account information. Scroll down to the "Picture" option. Now click on the "Browse" button to locate and select the picture you want to submit and select upload. SportZu.tv supports almost all image formats but we do have size requirements.*
4. Click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page to save your profile picture. If your profile does NOT automatically revert to your newest profile picture, refresh your page.
5. *Your virtual face or picture. Maximum dimensions are 100x100 and the maximum size is 100 kB

How do I delete my profile picture?
1. To delete your profile picture, make sure you are logged in to SportZu.tv.
2. Next click the "Edit" link in parentheses next to your SportZu log in user name on the right hand side of the screen, slightly below the upper navigational menu. Now click the "Account Settings" Tab next to "Edit Profile".
3. Scroll down to the "Picture" option. Now click on the little box underneath your current picture labeled “Delete Picture.” *
4. Click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page to delete your profile picture.
5. *Once you delete your picture and if you don’t add a new one you will get the stock photo of the SportZu buddy.

What is MySportZu?

MySportZu is a social utility extention of your profile that connects your ZuMates and friends to share videos, events, links, blogs, and ZuGroups.

MySportZu is a video player where you can create a playlist of your favorite videos on SportZu.tv. Any video placed on SportZu can be placed in your MySportZu channel by adding the video through the Add to My Library and Add to My Playlist options at the bottom the screen.

You can edit what applications are available on your MySportZu or move the applications to fit on your screen. For more information on how to edit MySportZu watch http://www.sportzu.tv/channel/sportzu-how.

I tried to view a ZuMate's MySportZu page and it keeps going back to my profile?

If you try to view a ZuMate's MySportZu page and it won't load, that ZuMate has not yet created and added materials to their MySportZu page.

Keep running into ZuMate's without a MySportZu? Send that ZuMate a message and give them ideas from your ZuList. Show off your channel!

Adding a Video to My SportZu Channel
1. Located on your "MySportZu" page, "My Channel" is your own personal video player and you control the playlist!
2. Videos may be added to "My Channel" from your Video Library which you can access from the "My Video" drop down under "My Menu."
3. When viewing your video library you will see the "Add To My Playlist" option to the far right of each Video Image. Clicking here will add it to the playlist of your Channel. You may also re-order the videos in your playlist by click-hold and dragging them where you would like.

To get back deleted content blocks:
• At the top of your MySportZu page, click on the reset button.

What are ZuPics?

SportZu is all about online sharing of pictures with your ZuMates. ZuPics are photos and images you can add, share, and display in your MySportZu photo album or in the ZuPic Gallery.

Once you add your ZuPic, it could be featured on our home page!

We can’t wait to see your ZuPic soon.

To Upload a Picture to SportZu
1. Mouse over "My Images" under "My Menu."
2. Click the "Add an Image" option from the drop down. This will link you to the "Submit My Image" page.
3. Name the Image in the "Community Tags" field.
4. You may also create a list of words that describe your video in the "Community Tags" field. These words will make it easy for ZuMates to search and find your video. Example: Little Dribblers, Basketball, Slam Dunk, Carmelo Anthony.
5. Now click on the "Browse" button to locate and select the image file you want to submit and select upload. SportZu.tv supports almost all videoimage formats*
6. Next you will need to upload the image. Now you can title the image or have a different message when you mouse over the image.
7. Lastly, add a description telling your ZuMates what the your ZuPic is all about in the "Body" box.
8. When all these fields are complete, click "Submit" and your image will be added to SportZu.tv’s "ZuPics" and your "MySportZu Gallery."
9. Note: Do not move, change or navigate pages while the image uploads. The image will not load and you will have to do the process all over again.

Trouble Watching Videos?
1. We understand your frustrations at not being able to watch videos.
2. Currently this problem occurs with computers operating with Internet Explorer. Make sure that you are using Internet Explorer 7 and using Flash Player 9.
3. We are currently working on this problem and will do our best to fix this as soon as possible.

Adding a Video to My SportZu Channel
1. Located on your "MySportZu" page, "My Channel" is your own personal video player and you control the playlist!

SportZu's online community is all about sharing personal videos and ZuVids with your ZuMates!

Post a ZuVid of your game winning touchdown, a 540 tail grab on the slopes, or just you and your friends having fun!

Once you add a ZuVid to SportZu.tv, you can play it on your "MyChannel", share it with ZuMates, include it in a ZuGroup and you may even see it featured on our home page!

Community Tags

When adding content to SportZu you may create a list of words that describe your image, video, blog etc... in the "Community Tags" field. These words will make it easy for ZuMates to search and find this content.

Example: Little League, Baseball, Home Run, Sammy Sosa

Adding a Video to My Library

See a cool ZuVid you’d like to add to your own library?
1. Place your mouse over the ZuVid’s Preview Image and wait for the action box to appear to the right of the Video you are interested in.
2. This box will tell you the title and duration of the video as well as the ZuMate who submitted it to SportZu.
3. At the bottom of this box you will see the "Add to My Library" option. Clicking this will automatically place this video in your library.
4. Access your library by selecting "Video Library" from the "MyVideo" drop down under "My Menu."

To Upload a Video to SportZu
SportZu.tv’s online community is all about sharing personal videos with your ZuMates!

Here’s how:
1. Mouse over "My Video" under "My Menu".
2. Click the “Add Video” option from the drop down. This will link you to the "Submit My Video" page.
3. Name the video in the “Title” and “Page Title” fields.
4. Below you’ll see a “Video Type” drop down menu. Select a word or phrase from the list that best describes your video.
5. You may also create a list of words that describe your video in the “Community Tags” field. These words will make it easy for ZuMates to search and find your video. Example: Little League, Baseball, Home Run, Sammy Sosa
6. Now click on the "Browse" button to locate and select the video file you want to submit and select upload. SportZu.tv supports almost all video formats*
7. Next you will need to add a Preview Image. This can be done in three ways: Select a still image from the start of the video, from 1/3 through the video's duration or select the Custom Image button and browse for another image you want to use.
8. Lastly, add a "short" and "long description" telling your ZuMates what the your ZuVid is all about.
9. When all these fields are complete, click "Submit" and the video will be added to SportZu.tv’s ZuVids library.
* Suggested file formats for upload include: .flv, .mov, .avi, .mpeg

To Create a New ZuGroup
1. You will find the "New ZuGroup" option under "MyZuGroups" in My Menu.
2. Enter a cool group name in the "Title" field.
3. Briefly describe what your group is in the "Description" field.
4. Tell other ZuMates what your Zugroup is all about and why they should join in the "Mission Statement" field. Note: The Mission Statement field will be displayed on your ZuGroup's home page.
5. Choose your ZuGroup's privacy settings in "Subscription Requests".
6. Click on "Submit" to save your ZuGroup.

To Find ZuGroups
1. Click on the "ZuGroups" button on the top menu bar.
2. This will take you to the "ZuGroups Directory" page. This is a listing of every ZuGroup in the SportZu Community.
3. Click on the group you wish to visit.

To leave a ZuGroup
1. Click "MyZuGroups" under "My Menu" to see a list of the ZuGroups you belong to.
2. If you no longer wish to belong to a ZuGroup, click the “My Subscription” link under the Manage column.
3. This will take you to a page listing all the available actions for the group.
4. To leave the group, click the "Unsubscribe from this group" link.
5. The page will then ask you if you are sure you want to leave. Click "Unsubscribe" if you do or "Cancel" if you don't.

To send an announcement to your ZuGroup
1. Want to let the members of your ZuGroup know something? Send an Announcement!
2. Click "MyZuGroups" under "My Menu" to see a list of the ZuGroups you belong to. Find and click on the ZuGroup you are interested in. This will take you to the ZuGroup home page.
3. Click on the "Create Group Announcement" link to the right of the video player.
4. Fill in the subject of your ZuGroup announcement in the "Announcement Title" field.
5. In the "Community Tags" field, create a list terms or key words relating to your ZuGroup announcement. Example: Volleyball, Tournament, March 3rd, Denver
6. Share all the juicy details in the large "Announcement" box.
7. Click "Submit."
8. Your announcement will now be visible on the ZuGroup's home page.

To invite a friend to a ZuGroup
1. Are you a member of a cool group? Invite your friends in on the action! Click "MyZuGroups" under "My Menu" to see a list of the ZuGroups you belong to. Find and click on the ZuGroup you are interested in. This will take you to the "ZuGroup" home page.
2. Click on the "Invite Friend" link to the right of the video player.
3. Invite up to 10 friends by entering email addresses or usernames. Be sure to separate friends with commas or new lines.
4. Each friend will receive an invitation message from you. Personalize your email by filling out the Personal Message box.
5. Click "Send Invitation."

To Join a ZuGroup
1. Click on the ZuGroups button on the top menu bar. This will take you to the "Groups Directory" page.
Scroll through the list to check out all the different ZuGroups or search for a group by name.
2. Once you find the ZuGroup you want to join, click on the Subscribe link.
3. The page will then ask you if you are sure you want to subscribe. At this point you can click "Subscribe" to join, or "Cancel".
4. When you subscribe, the ZuGroup Administrator will receive an email letting them know you’d like to join.

What is a ZuGroup?

A ZuGroup is like a club, whose members have something in common. ZuGroups are a way for you to connect with other ZuMates just like you. For example, members of a ZuGroup can be little league teammates or share a passion for the Colorado Mammoth. No matter what your interests are, you can find or create a ZuGroup for you!

You can join any open ZuGroup from the "Group Directory" page.

All ZuGroups require administrative approval for you to join. You will have to wait for the ZuGroup's administrator to add you in. A membership confirmation email will be sent to you.

To Remove a ZuMate
1. To Remove a ZuMate, begin on your own profile page. Here you will see a list of your ZuMates.
2. Select the ZuMate you wish to remove by double clicking on their pic to open and view their profile.
3. In the Basic Information box (top box containing their picture) you will find three icons next to the word "Connect".
4. Click the third picture icon to the right; the icon with two people and a red minus sign.
5. The next page will ask you if you are sure you want to remove this ZuMate; click "Remove" if you do or "Cancel" if you have changed your mind.

To Add A ZuMate?

Start by clicking the "ZuMates" button on the top menu bar.This will take you to a photo library of SportZu's ZuMates.

If you see a cool ZuMate that you'd want on your team, mouse over the ZuMate's pic and wait for an action box to appear to the right of the ZuMate you are interested in. Three options will appear in this action box.

Click "Add to My ZuMates". This will send an email letting that ZuMate know you'd like to add them to your team. When they accept your request, this ZuMate's pic will automatically appear on your profile page under "My ZuMates".

What is a ZuMate?

ZuMates are members of SportZu.tv's online interactive community.

By signing up with SportZu and creating a profile, you become a SportZu ZuMate. Check out a photo library of SportZu's ZuMates by clicking the "ZuMates" button on the top menu bar.

The ZuMates photo library allows you to view ZuMates profiles and SportZu pages by mousing over their pics.

If you see a cool ZuMate that you'd want on your team, click "Add to My ZuMates". This will send an email letting that ZuMate know you'd like to add them to your team. When they accept the request, this ZuMate's pic will automatically show up on your profile page under "My ZuMates".

To Edit an Existing Blog

If you would like to edit an existing blog, start by clicking "My Blog" under "My Menu" to view a list of your blog entries. Click on the title of the blog you wish to edit. Once open, locate and click the tab labeled "Edit" in the top middle of the page. Here you will be able to edit any section of the blog. *Keep in mind, both blogs and blog comments are public!

How do I post a comment?
1. When reading a ZuMates Blog, feel free to respond by adding a comment!
2. Open the blog you wish to comment on and click "Add a New Comment" located at the bottom of the blog.
3. Fill out what you would like to say, click "Submit" and your live.
4. * The MyBlog owner has the option to delete or edit comments

Adding A Video To My Blog

Found a cool sports related video? Blog about it!!

To add video to your blog, use the “Embed Video Field” on the "Submit My Blog" page. Here you can add the URL or embed code from your video library, a ZuMates playlist or another video site such as YouTube, Blip tv, Google etc... The embedded third party content will be parsed and displayed appropriately.

To Post An Entry To My Blog

Score the winning goal at the big game last night? Blog about it!

To add an entry, simply move your cursor over "My Blog" under My Menu. Click on the "Add a Blog Post" option that appears. Fill out as many of the fields as you like and click submit. Your new blog entry will be added to My Blog in your My SportZu.

What Is MyBlog?

MyBlog is a personal on-line journal that can be found on MySportZu page. MyBlog is a great way to tell your ZuMates whats new with you! It may contain text, images, videos, anything you feel like sharing that day.

Entries will display in reverse chronologicasl order. This means your most recent entry will be posted at the top of MyBlog. Scroll down to go back in time and see older posts. You can also read and comment on other ZuMates MyBlogs.

Checking Messages

Want to see if a Zumate has sent you a message?
1. Simply click “My Messages” under My Menu. This will take you directly to your private messaging Inbox. Simply click on the message you would like to read and it will open. From here, you can either delete or reply to the message.
2. In addition to the Inbox, you can also view a list of messages you have sent other Zumates by clicking "Send Messages" near the top of the page.

Creating a Message

Need to tell a ZuMate something? Send them a message!

To create a message place your cursor over "My Messages" from My Menu and click on the "Send a Message" option from the drop down. Enter your ZuMates Username in the "To" field, include a subject, and write your message in the "Body" box. Hit "Submit" and its off!

Private Messaging

Private messaging is like email for SportZu.tv. You and your Zumates can use private messaging to send messages to each other that you do not want publicly displayed on the MySportZu page.

To report inappropriate material or abuse,

find the material you feel violates the terms and conditions of the site and select the link at the bottom of the page labeled “Flag This.” Here you can report the inappropriate material and SportZu.tv management will investigate the situation.
